Race Report - Queensland Tri Round 2: Moreton Bay

The sunlit waters of Moreton Bay set the stage for the Queensland Tri Series Round 2, where the SSG MultiSports club not only competed but also triumphed in spirit and performance.


Pre-Event Preparation

  • Members of SSG MultiSports had been gearing up for this event, with some focusing on improving their sprint distances, while others embraced the challenge of the longer Classic race.


Event Day Logistics

  • The day was marked by perfect swimming conditions, a challenging bike course with variable winds, and a demanding run under the Queensland sun.

    • TEAM muir/burt - 2nd (Male Team)


Team Dynamics

  • The club's collective effort was evident as they supported each other through the race, with special mentions to those who helped peers overcome personal challenges to start and finish the race.


Post-Race Reflections

  • Athletes shared their experiences, from the thrill of their first podium finish to the emotional support that got them through the race.

  • "Very nearly didn’t start this race... But a combination of peer support... got me by and achieved my goal."


Awards and Recognition

  • SSG MultiSports clinched 2nd place in the Medium Club Championships and podiumed for the second consecutive year.

  • Individual accolades included podium finishes across various categories, with athletes like Nathan Jacobs and Alisha Pascoe celebrating their first triathlon podium.


Fan and Supporter Shoutout

  • A big thank you to all volunteers, especially Rob, Sally, Thommy, Paul, Steph, Sue, Mair, and Robyn. Special thanks to Natasha for organizing and supporting our volunteers with food and motivation, and a special shoutout to Dane for manning the BBQ, and to Mark Hanson for capturing the day in photos..

  • With spirits high, SSG MultiSports looks forward to the next challenge, aiming to continue their upward trajectory.
